Annnnnd, they’re off!
The first meeting of the ‘Run Wavertree’ running group was a great success, with thirteen local residents meeting up on Wednesday evening for a (safe and socially distanced) bit of fresh air, fun and exercise.
The group is led by our super-volunteer Ian, who as well as being a veteran, handyman, painter, decorator, builder, plumber, fixer of things, knower of knowledge, awesome photographer, general superstar and all round Action Man somehow also finds time for a regular run!
Everyone who took part in the session gave excellent reviews and they all looked very happy and all smiles, as in the photo above – although we’re not sure if this was taken at the beginning or the end 😉
A massive well in to Ian for making it all happen – we are very lucky to have you and your many and varied talents in our Love Wavertree community! We are so grateful too that you share your time, ideas and skills so generously.
And big high fives to everyone who peeled themselves off their couches after lockdown. We have loved our good old trackies as #lockdownleisurewear, but it is great to see people wearing theirs for their intended purpose!
The group will run every Wednesday evening, meeting at 6.30pm outside the ReLoved shop. Sessions are free to join and designed so that all fitness levels are catered for, and everyone is welcome.
[Rumour has it – though as yet unconfirmed – that future sessions may well feature Ian sporting some day-glo fluorescent animal print running leggings, handmade by our very own Millie Sparkles! NASA has been warned.]
